Synopsis
En ung pige står med brudekjole og myrtekrans, da tæppet går. Da dukker hendes ungdomselskede pludselig op, og det opklares, at han gennem en årrække jævnligt og trofast har skrevet til hende, men hendes familie, der har andre planer med hende, har gemt brevene for hende, således at hun har følt sig svigtet og omsider givet efter for familiens ønske om at gifte sig med en anden, man har udset til hende. Hun flygter nu med sin elskede til en gammel bedstemor, der bor på landet...
