SECOND BEST
Synopsis
The story of the famous Danish boxer Jørgen 'Gamle' Hansen. In the late 70's Jørgen is done with boxing. He is afraid to step into the ring, his body is worn out and the bank is threatening to take his house and leave Jørgen and his family on the street. Jørgen is beaten and down and only one person is keeping him afloat - Hanne, his beloved wife, friend and manager all rolled into one. Together the couple is facing an impossible fight to keep Jørgen's career going. Jørgen is almost ready to give up when Hanne decides that they should take the Ugandan boxer Ayub Kalule under their wing and train him. According to the legendary Danish boxing promoter Mogens Palle Kalule is the future of Danish boxing and suddenly Jørgen realizes that he is not ready to retire.
