12TH MAN, THE
Synopsis
Troms 1943. 12 saboteurs on a fishing boat are ambushed by German soldiers. 11 of them are tortured and killed and only the 12th man escapes. With a gunshot to his foot, soaking wet and with only a 100-meter head start Jan Baalsrud runs out into the merciless winter of North Norway with the Gestapo hot on his heels – unaware that his indomitable will to survive soon will make him a symbol of the Norwegian resistance movement. A symbol that those he meets on his way is willing to die for. Jan Baalsrud’s two-month escape is still considered to be one of the most amazing survival stories from World War II.
